Channel 9 A Current Affair filmed the breakthrough artform of Surfdancing before the opening ceremony of the Noosa Longboard Festival. The camera men gained extensive footage of the Surfettes, Surfdanzettes and Surfdancers rehearsing for their first public performance which was to be held at the Noosa Festival of Surfing March 2005.

The A Current Affair Camera team filmed dance choreography with surfboards on an island sand bank in the middle of the Noosa River mouth. The Channel 9 camera team also captured the surfdancers surfdancing through the rivermouth. The surfdancers took advantage of a fast flowing section of moving water and displayed their paddling choreography with dancers arms and a combination of leg lifts. The surfdancers in fluro colours danced out of the waterways into the Rivermouth with the outgoing tide.

This footage is still to be aired on Channel 9 A Current Affair
